Crystal lake is located just south of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake Shore in beautiful Benzie County. Benzie is a scenic area of rolling sand dunes and some of the most beautiful farmlands in the area including vinyards, cherry orchards, apple orchards and more. Spring time is awesome when the orchards are in bloom and the hills become alive!
The National parks offers so much in recreational activities including hiking, biking, kayak, fishing and on and on. Don’t forget the long and scenic M-22 and the Betsie Valley Bike Path.
One more thing Crystal Lake is rated one of the most beautiful scenic inland lakes in the world by National Geographic. This is a place to work, play and call home!
What about the Lakes around the Sleeping Bear Dunes? All the inland lakes are pretty much opened this last weekend. The ice and the shanties are gone for the season. It’s time to bring out the kayaks, canoes and boats! Very mild winter and lets hope for an early summer. Spring is in the air!
Best time to visit is in the Spring when all the waterfalls are running and the roar of the water is heard throughout the park. The Fall is quiet time of the year. I found the Spring time when everything comes alive in the Park amazing…great way to celebrate Spring where nature is blooming in all it’s glory!
